The Instructional Practices Inventory is an online survey taken by teachers that identifies instructional practices being used in the classroom as well as identifying where additional professional development activities should be directed.
The survey, which typically takes 15 minutes to complete, asks teachers to indicate how often they use each of thirty different strategies in their classrooms and whether they would be interested in more training in the use of any specific strategy. After completing the inventory, teachers are given an individualized report of the strategies they can begin using to improve their instruction. Schools and districts that use the inventory receive aggregate data that is invaluable for planning professional development activities.
